The objective of the project is to provide technical assistance to support the rapid development of the wind energy market in Egypt by recommending guidelines and tools to the EETC, the system operator, for the optimal scheduling of complementary generation and demand so as to integrate wind generated power into the Egyptian power system with due attention to preserving the security, reliability and commercial aspects of EETC’s power system operations.

Firnas Shuman team, in collaboration with partners, was responsible for:
- Analysis of current situation;
- Setting guidelines and recommendation to accommodate high wind penetration levels to the Egyptian power system;
- Development of conceptual design of Real-Time system (software (SW) and hardware (HW)) in order to monitor and control wind generation;
- Procurement of software and hardware for wind farm integration;
- Conducting training and Transfer of Know-how to the client;
- Development of tender for wind integration support systems;
- Evaluation of tender, award, and supervision of implementation.
