Owner’s Engineer for 60 MW Al Mokha Wind Farm in Yemen

The Al Mokha greenfield 60 MW wind farm was financed by a group of international lenders, including the World Bank, OPEC Development Fund, Islamic Development Bank, and Arab Fund for Social Development. The work of owner’s engineer was financed by the World Bank. A consortium of Firnas Shuman and Sargent & Lundy, led by Firnas Shuman was awarded the role of owner’s engineer. Firnas Shuman prepared specifications and tender documents, launched an international tender in accordance with lender’s requirements and responded to bidders queries. The project was suspended prior to implementation due to unrest in the country.
