Owner's Engineer for 52 MW PV Plant with Tracker Mounting in Jordan

The Shams Ma’an project was part of the first round of solar PV projects in Jordan. Firnas Shuman acted as part of the owner’s engineer team and was responsible for all on-site construction supervision from ground-breaking through to commercial operation and close out of the punch list. Firnas Shuman deployed a team of civil, mechanical and electrical engineers who were responsible all construction supervision, design implementation, commissioning and testing supervision on-site.

Being the first such project in the country, the project held some unique challenges as the country built its expertise in this field. At the time of its commissioning it was perhaps the largest operational PV plant in the Middle East.
Firnas Shuman has been contracted as owner’s engineer, and the scope of work has been mainly of site and construction supervision.

Firnas Shuman team provided the following services:

Owner’s engineer scope from ground-breaking through to closure of punch-list;
Inspection and approval of all materials on site according to BoQ;
Supervision of all site works: civil, electrical, mechanical;
Supervision of civil works (site grading, installation of mounting structures, execution of roads, fence and O&M building);
Issuing site progress reports for owner’s and lenders;
Hosting lender’s engineer visits;
Supervision of all tests on PV Modules, megger tests of DC, AC & MV cables, VLF test, cold and hot commissioning of PCSs;
On-site coordination with contractor team.
