Job Objective: To ensure that our purchases are:
- Fit for our purpose
- At a reasonable cost
- Under terms that are fair to us and our suppliers.
Job Post: Cairo, perhaps with occasional travel
Key job functions:
Our teams require materials and services both from the local and international markets. Some of the functions a Purchaser would perform are:
- Finding and sourcing materials, obtaining and comparing pricing;
- Negotiating with suppliers, often in foreign countries and foreign languages;

Determining what is a reasonable price based on metrics when it’s challenging to get alternative quotations.
Basic requirements
We expect that a successful candidate will:
- have a bachelor’s degree in some field;

have worked in an international organization dealing with an international team;
- Be fluent in English. Other languages are an advantage.
Traits:
In addition to the basic requirements, we expect that a successful candidate:
- is personable and genuinely enjoys dealing with people;
- has excellent communication skills;
- is motivated by finding a solution to a problem;
- is fundamentally fair and looks for solutions that will develop and maintain our relationships with suppliers;
- is able to work under pressure.
